Technically Dusty and I (Hannah) first met during a brief conversation while serving Christian missions in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for our church. It wasn’t until after when mutual ‘missionary’ friends encouraged us to connect and we quickly realized we had a lot more in common than just being the tallest people in the room. Soon we started dating long distance while Dusty lived in his hometown of Winnemucca, Nevada, before he moved to Utah for school and where I worked as a Speech Therapist Assistant at an elementary school. The next year we got married, and a few years later we had our son Mac. Dusty was a stay-at-home-dad/graduate student while he finished his accounting degree and shortly after graduation we moved to Boise. I switched to being home with Mac full-time. We love Boise, our neighborhood, and friends we've met through church, preschool, and hobbies. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
About Us
The three of us love spending time together, being outside, riding bikes in the neighborhood, swimming in the summer, or going out for dinner or an evening. Dusty and I both grew up playing sports and still enjoy participating in local groups to play basketball (Dusty) and volleyball (Me). Mac has been excited to start his own activities like gym class, basketball and soccer. Basically anything that lets him run around. Even with all that, we spend plenty of time staying at home reading books with Mac, cooking or baking, working on projects, and watching our favorite shows or movies. Last year we became licensed foster parents. This has been a neat experience helping families in the community and giving a safe space for those children to be. Mac especially enjoys having another kid or baby in the house to play and interact with on a daily basis.
Throughout our marriage we've had a lot of fun traveling to see new places and cultures. However, some of our favorite trips are the annual family vacations with our extended families and friends. We have a strong faith in Christ and are very involved with our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), working with the children and youth groups. This is another close community of good people who constantly enrich our lives.
