Why we want to adopt

Both Hannah and I come from families with four kids, and we always planned to have multiple children. After having our son Mac, Hannah had to start new medications to help stabilize and manage an autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with years ago. These new medications allow Hannah to be healthy and still live a normal and active life, but also make pregnancy an unsafe option for both her and a baby. For the last three years she's tried both conventional and unconventional approaches to improve her health enough to have another baby, but without success. As we navigated the heartbreak and grief we felt, we still had the desire and ability to care for other children and became licensed foster parents. Parenting our son and foster kids/babies has been a fulfilling experience as they find their personality, gain confidence in themselves, and learn and grow. We still have a deep desire for another baby to permanently join our family, and after much thought and prayers, we decided to start the adoption process. Although we can't grow our family how we initially planned, we see adoption as an amazing opportunity to do so,  and want nothing more than to provide a loving and stable home to another child.
